It’s our 131th Birthday!
President Grant declared Colorado a state on August 1, 1876 and it became known as the “Centennial State.”
And on August 2nd, Californians and Texans started moving here. Bastards!
In honor of this most auspicious day, here’s the song we all had drummed into our heads from kindergarten on. If you want to hear it, ask any Colorado native, I guarantee they’ll know it.
It’s not the state song, but it’s far more catchy.
One response to “Happy Colorado Day!”
tee hee at the Cali/Tex invasion!
You forgot a song… ‘Colorado My Home’ from the musical ‘The Unsinkable Molly Brown’ and duh… ‘Rocky Mountain High’ — which freakishly enough my children, pureblood natives, describe as ‘boring, lame, gay, retarded, and stupid’ — an unfortunate accident must have befallen them
