I was informed this weekend that a couple of my kids were caught cheating on their homework.  I’m glad no pictures were taken at the moment I was told, because there would be steam coming out of my ears.  The high school doesn’t take cheating on anything lightly, and I’m even more strict on the subject.  One of the kids starts on varsity and that will change immediately.  The other has played varsity, but I don’t think that will happen anymore.  I see running in their future…Lots and lots of running.  Even typing this post makes me seeth.  You do homework to learn the stuff, not just to get grades.  I will make sure they learn that lesson starting today.

As for the rest of the team, they need to understand that cheating in anything is one of the worst things a person can do.  I’ve let the team slide on a few of my rules because of their results lately.

That ends today.

I realize I’m jumping and jumping hard, but there is no other option.  Soccer is important but having integrity is for life.  Cheating will not happen on my teams anymore.

I hope my kids survive practice today, we have an important game tomorrow.

  1. You get them Darren. If you will cheat on the small things how could you ever earn the right to be trusted with the big things?
