My High School soccer team is pretty talented with a few very good players, but we got off to a really bad start this year. How bad? 0-3….yeesh. Sometimes my kids just don’t play like a team, no matter how much I drill it into their heads. We did win our last game, however, and I believe we ought to win most if not all of our remaining games. But, in order to do that they need to do the little things…like passing, and defense. If they do that, we’ll be in good shape. If not, I’ll be bald from pulling my hair out.
Here’s hoping the kids show up and play how they can, but we’ll see this afternoon.
I’ll let you know how it turns out.
UPDATE: The kids came out and let in the first goal, but managed to tie it up and then get another before halftime for a 2-1 lead. They came out in the second half and jumped on the other team for 3 more goals and a 5-1 win.
A good win, but we lost intensity late and that can’t happen. The next game is Tuesday against our league arch rival. It should be very interesting.
